How do I book a motorhome/caravan in kampyng?

To reserve a motorhome/campervan with kampyng, begin by creating a user profile on kampyng.com. Ensure your profile is verified and input your payment details for booking requests.

Once you've found the perfect unit for your adventure, submit a booking request through the listing on www.kampyng.com. If you've searched for units based on location and dates, the platform will guide you through a few questions regarding your trip preferences and any additional services you may require.

Following your request, the owner has 120 hours to respond. Upon approval, your unit is booked, and you can eagerly anticipate your upcoming journey! It's important to note that once an owner approves your request, the unit is considered rented. Please avoid sending multiple requests simultaneously to avoid any confusion.

How do I know the camper is available?

If you've specified your travel dates in the search field, only the units available for your selected dates will be displayed.

For searches without specified dates, simply click on 'Check Availability' on the listing, and a calendar will appear. Unavailable dates will be indicated by a black line over the calendar dates.

Can I submit multiple requests for campers at the same time?

However, please be cautious as there's a risk of inadvertently renting multiple units if you send out multiple requests simultaneously.

Once an owner approves your request, you've successfully rented the unit you requested. If multiple owners approve your request, you'll be committed to renting multiple units.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellation made 90 days before the rental period starts: Full rental amount will be refunded.
  • Cancellation made between 90 and 21 days before the rental period starts: 70% of the rental - amount will be refunded, along with the booking fee to Oslocampervan.
  • Cancellation made less than 21 days before the rental period starts: No refund will be issued.

Can i send messages to the motorhome owner?

How can I determine the accommodation capacity of the camper or motorhome listed on kampyng?

In the advertisement on kampyng, you'll find information about the capacity of the camper or motorhome. However, it's important to note that while some vehicles may be registered for a certain number of passengers, they may not always be practically equipped to accommodate that many people.

This also applies to caravans. For instance, if the manufacturer states that a caravan has 7 beds, some of these beds may be in a seating area that requires conversion into a sleeping space.

To ensure clarity, it's crucial to carefully read the description of the unit and inquire with the owner by sending a message through oslocampervan. They can provide you with specific details about the sleeping arrangements and any additional accommodations available in the vehicle.

How does the payment process for renting a vehicle works?

After your request has been approved by the owner, kampyng will automatically charge the card you've added to your profile to process the rental payment.

The rental fee is typically deducted from your account when there are 3 months remaining until the rental period begins. However, if you submit a request with less than 3 months until the rental period starts, the rental fee will be withdrawn immediately.

Additionally, kampyng will reserve a deposit of 1000euro. This deposit serves as a precaution for any potential additional expenses during the rental period, such as road tolls, ferry fees, or damages.

How can I find out the capacity of the motorhome/caravan listed on Kampyng?

The number of people each motorhome or caravan can accommodate is clearly specified in its listing on Kampyng. However, it's worth noting that some motorhomes registered for 4 passengers might not be practically suited for sleeping 4 people. This principle applies to caravans as well; for instance, if a caravan is advertised to have 7 beds, some of these beds might need to be set up in a convertible seating area. We strongly recommend carefully reading the vehicle's description and directly messaging the owner on Kampyng for any clarifications.

Do I need to remain seated while the motorhome is in motion?

Absolutely, you must stay seated and also ensure you're wearing your seat belt at all times. Safety first!

How does the rental payment process work on Kampyng?

After the vehicle owner approves your rental request, Kampyng will charge the payment method you've saved to your profile for the rental cost. The charge is made three months before your rental period begins. If you make a reservation less than three months in advance, the payment will be processed immediately upon confirmation. Additionally, Kampyng will place a hold for a security deposit of €1,000 on your card. This deposit is to cover any potential additional expenses incurred during your rental, such as tolls, ferry costs, or any damages.

How does the deposit work?

A deposit of €1,000 is required to cover any additional costs that might arise during your rental period. This includes, but is not limited to, expenses such as electronic tolls, ferry tickets, extra kilometers driven, or any damages to the vehicle. The usage of the deposit will be determined during the final settlement process within the app at the end of your rental. The amount is reserved on your payment card and remains held until the completion of the rental period, ensuring any incidental charges can be covered efficiently.

What happens if my booking request is not answered?

If your request is not answered within 120 hours, it will be automatical deleted.

Do I have to pay anything if I cancel a booking?

Should you decide to cancel a booking request prior to its confirmation by the vehicle owner, you will incur no charges. However, following the approval of your request by the owner, our cancellation policy comes into effect as follows:

  • For cancellations made more than 90 days ahead of the rental start date, you will be fully refunded the rental amount.
  • If you cancel your booking between 90 to 21 days before the rental period commences, you are entitled to a refund of 70% of the rental fee. Please note, the booking fee paid to Kampyng is not refundable.
  • Any cancellations occurring less than 21 days before the start of the rental period do not qualify for a refund.

How are electronic toll tags and additional trip expenses handled?

At the end of your journey, the settlement for the use of electronic toll tags and any other incidental expenses is arranged directly between you and the vehicle owner upon the vehicle's return. This process is seamlessly integrated into the delivery procedure with the Kampyng, making for an efficient and straightforward resolution.

Is the motorhome/caravan insured during the rental period?

Absolutely, it's the owner's responsibility to ensure that the motorhome or caravan you're renting is fully insured. In the event of any damage that falls under the owner's insurance coverage, a deductible of €1,000 will be charged to the renter. This amount is deducted from either the deposit or directly from the payment method you've registered on your Kampyng profile.

How should I prepare the vehicle for return?

The owner cherishes their vehicle and has graciously offered it for rental. They anticipate its return in the pristine condition it was in at the outset. Accordingly, the vehicle must be maintained in a clean and orderly state during the entire rental duration. Prior to return, a gentle cleaning of both the interior and exterior is expected. Furthermore, please ensure all tanks are emptied, facilitating a swift turnaround for the owner to ready the vehicle for its subsequent rental.
