Camping in a Tesla will garner attention at any campground and our favourite thing to show off is this - Tesla Camp mode is a low-power mode built into the car and accessed via the temperature controls. It effectively does four things: Maintains airflow and temperature Allows interior lighting to be turned on or off Plays music or streaming services Powers devices Tesla estimates that the Tesla camp mode power consumption will use ~1% of battery per hour of camp mode use. Of course this varies based on the model of Tesla, the temperature, devices plugged in​/​functions used and your starting battery level. We have a 2023 Long Range Model Y and found that a full night’s sleep would use between 5 and 15% of our battery in camping mode. I like to set the car around 18°C (64°F) and my partner prefers 69°F (20°C). If you are too warm or cold at night you can easily control this via the Tesla app - no need to crawl to the screen. Ultimately, it allows you to stay warm (or cool) all night and not have to wake up with those dreaded fogged up windows. Storage: Most vehicles when transformed into a car camping vehicle will inevitably result in one of two things: playing a game of passenger seat jenga with your bags or losing valuable headspace and versatility in the addition of a platform bed that includes storage. Thankfully this isn’t an issue when you’re car camping in the Model Y. With the spacious trunk and sub-trunk (and a mini sub-trunk just in front of the main sub-trunk) as well as the footwells behind the front seats we can easily fit everything from camera gear to backpacking gear to extra food and supplies while keeping the front seats clear. This makes it easy to leave the bed set up while we drive if need be. With the front seats moved all of the way forward and the back seats folded down, the rear cabin of the Tesla Model Y is 83 inches (210 cm) long. Super comfortable thick mattress in the car, the bed in the car is ready with duvets and pillows ready made up when you pick up the car ! Cleaning and return The car is inspected upon delivery and handing in. Training is provided. The motorhome is delivered and returned with 80% battery. The car is returned with same amount battery % When returning the car, it must be cleaned inside and out. In the event of non-cleaning and​​​/​​​or emptying, €500 will be deducted from the deposit. In case of smell from smoking or vomiting, €500 will be deducted from the deposit for cleaning. The motorhome is rented out to adults over the age of 27, with a driving license for at least 5 years. It is an advantage if you have experience of driving a electric car. Expect about 1 hour of introduction to the car's functions upon collection. No festivals, parties, smoke or animals. (We have had a small hypoallergenic dog with us a couple of times, it is good to know if you are very allergic to dogs) The motorhome owner cannot be charged for faults on the car either before or during the rental period. If the car owner has to cancel the rental due to a fault with the car, the renter will be refunded the entire rental amount and deposit. If the car develops a fault during the rental period, which means that it cannot be used, the car owner cannot be held responsible. The mobile home owner is not responsible for the tenant's holiday or the tenant's lost expenses or holiday. The motorhome owner does everything possible to keep the car in order until the rental period starts, but things can happen that are beyond the owner's control. In that case, this cannot be charged to the car owner. It is not allowed to sublet the motorhome. If you are going to drive the motorhome out of Scandinavia, this must be agreed in advance.
